It’s all in the details:

How we’ve transformed the interior design of NuVasive

This May 2019, we announced the groundbreaking of our NuVasive headquarters in San Diego. Over the next year, we are increasing our footprint four buildings on the Lusk campus! As we wait for the new Surgeon Experience Center to debut in summer of 2019, each existing floor will be redesigned to optimize the space and reflect the NuVasive culture. The first team to experience the new NUVA design was Surgical Intelligence (SI). Residing on the east side of our campus, the SI team needed a space that fostered collaboration, had open spaces, and represented our values. Take a look:.

The ‘Spine of Collaboration’ is a testament to the innovation here at NuVasive.

We know how much collaboration takes places across engineering, marketing, surgeon engagement, R&D, and other teams. When visualizing what the new space would entail, our executives and facilities team wanted to deliver an area that had open seating, plenty of white boards, a few noise-controlled seating areas, and clean design. Ultimately, the ‘Spine of Collaboration’ has been what our Shareowners have needed to take our evolving vision into the future!

We partnered with local landscape photographer, Steve Compos

to incorporate iconic San Diego beaches into the new space. Ranging from the bluffs at Torrey Pines, Del Mar Beach to La Jolla Shores, we wanted to capture the essence of San Diego in our headquarters while in the office. Creative Director, Victoria, shares, “We wanted to represent the calming and peaceful feeling you experience at the beach. By selecting images with a good balance of warm and cool tones, we were able to mimic the modern style incorporated by the architectural company who had renovated our space”.

During the walkthrough with Steve onsite, he said, “The images were so much more than I expected and I’m just blown away!

Thank you for entrusting me and my work in your impressive space”. One of the newest additions to the collaborative space is our NuVasive purpose statement wall. Victoria thought the presence of our shared purpose in bold, giant letters would instill a daily reminder to all the Shareowners that walked past it. “We wanted something clean and timeless in the space. Set in one of our social areas, this piece will hopefully be a daily reminder to Shareowners of our company purpose and how their work ties back to it.”

We’re excited for the rest of our renovation to complete over coming year. Thank you to Steve Compos for highlighting our beautiful city throughout the office space! Stay tuned for more headquarters updates in the future.
